Welcome back, riders! Today, we’re diving into Fantic’s 2025 lineup, an exciting upgrade across the board for motocross and enduro enthusiasts. The new Fantic 250 motocross bike is the star of the show, boasting a completely overhauled design. With a slimmer build, refined engine, and upgraded chassis, the 250 has evolved into a more agile and powerful machine. In addition to engine modifications, improvements in electronic management and noise control make the bike quieter, yet significantly more responsive.
But I know many of you are here to talk about Fantic’s enduro models. While these bikes haven’t seen as extensive a redesign as the 250, the updates they have received are crucial for real-world performance. Notably, the 125cc enduro has been equipped with larger radiators, boosting cooling efficiency by a solid 35%. This translates into better engine performance, even under intense riding conditions.
One standout is the 300cc two-stroke injection model, a crowd favorite since its introduction last year. While its upgrades are relatively minor, they’re targeted at maximizing the riding experience. For instance, Fantic redesigned the front fender, making it sturdier to prevent the flapping that plagued previous models. This small change adds stability, especially in muddy terrain where the wider design offers more protection and less distraction.
The 125cc model’s new 9-liter fuel tank and updated radiator shrouds improve both ergonomics and functionality. Many riders have noted that these adjustments make it easier to maneuver, especially with knee braces, thanks to the smoother, flatter surface. This may seem minor, but in off-road riding, it’s a significant improvement, enhancing both control and comfort.
And then there’s the hydraulic clutch—a feature many enduro riders are bound to love. While I personally prefer the cable clutch for rallies (it gives you a tactile feel of clutch wear), the hydraulic clutch undoubtedly offers more consistency and reduces fatigue on the trail. For those of you who tackle long, grueling rides, this is a game-changer.
Having tested the entire Fantic lineup, my personal favorite four-stroke enduro bike is the 310cc model. Weighing over 100kg myself, I found that it offers more pull in acceleration than the 250, especially when coming out of turns. It’s manageable without being as heavy as a 450, making it an ideal balance of power and agility. While the 310 and 450 still use Fantic’s 2023 frame (sourced from Yamaha), I expect an upgraded frame on next year’s models. For now, however, the 2025 motocross frame is the big news—slimmer and even more agile in corners, a noticeable improvement.
For two-stroke fans, the 300cc Fantic offers an exceptionally stable ride, even on slick trails. Despite the tricky conditions during testing, the bike handled beautifully, sliding predictably without unexpected reactions. This level of stability is rare in a two-stroke, and I found the bike easy to control, with exceptional throttle response thanks to its refined electronics. The new map selector and traction control switch make adapting to different trails as simple as the flick of a switch. This, combined with smooth low- to mid-RPM performance, makes it perfect for both beginners and seasoned riders.
And let’s talk about the build quality. Fantic’s collaboration with Yamaha means we’re looking at proven engine reliability and a durable frame. Not only is the 300cc two-stroke an absolute blast to ride, but it’s also low-maintenance and cost-effective, making it ideal for those who want high performance without high service demands. With the addition of an oil reservoir, there’s no need for the typical premix calculations—the bike takes care of that automatically, making it incredibly user-friendly.
Will the 300cc Fantic two-stroke be coming to the US? It’s hard to say. However, I can ship my rally builds worldwide, and many customers have managed to get them road-legal. I think this bike has the potential to be hugely popular in the US market, thanks to its versatility and easy maintenance.
